We ventured out, ( though a few hours later then planned due to heavy morning frost!), to get the Christmas the 1st weekend in December. As custom, we when to Thornton's Treeland tree farm, in Brush Prarie. We started out our visit with the animal petting zoo, which Nicholas loved. We petted a donkey, a few goats, and bunnies.
Then we headed out the fields to hunt for the perfect tree. It was quite the adventure, with very thick and gooey mud this year! But after much searching, we found a beautiful Doug Fir, (my favorite!, that stood 9 feet tall. As Matt got the tree shaken, bailed, and paid for, Nicholas and I enjoyed some hot coco in the barn. A great day and great fun!
